Our home inspector and President, Tom Morgan, has more than 30 years’ experience with New England homes and is well-versed on the challenges faced by the area’s waterfront properties and century homes.
Tom is a member of American Society of Home Inspectors (ASHI), the largest and most well-respected organization of home inspectors nationally. As a member, he has agreed to follow their code of ethics and professional standards, the highest standards for members of the home inspection industry.
Tom is also a member of the Connecticut Association of Home Inspectors (CAHI). This organization provides continuing education to its members, ensuring that CAHI inspectors are up-to-date on changing codes, emerging trends and best practices.

ASHI is the American Society of Home Inspectors, the oldest and most well-regarded organization for home inspectors nationally. Since 1976, ASHI has set practice standards and a code of ethics for inspectors nationally. Its more than 6,000 members are the best and most professional in their field.
American Society of Home Inspectors (ASHI)
To become an ASHI member, a home inspector must have completed at least 250 home inspections and commit to following the organization’s practice standards and code of ethics. ASHI members are required to complete continuing education classes on new professional skills, technology and materials.
ASHI also seeks to increase consumer awareness about just what a home inspector does and how their services can benefit homeowners not just during a sales transaction, but for planning, remodeling and new additions, and for scheduling and budgeting home maintenance.

CAHI, the Connecticut Association of Home Inspectors, is a non-profit organization that offers continuing education, support and training to home inspectors in Connecticut and eight surrounding states. The organization, founded in 1991, offers special seminars and workshops for members and seeks to educate area homeowners about the benefits of using a home inspector, not only for real estate transactions, but also for planning maintenance and extensive remodeling projects.
